The Lyng Estate Job Club.
The Job Club, which has been established in partnership with employment development agency, SWEDA, operates every Tuesday, from 1-3pm, at the Good Shepherd with St John Church of England Church on Lyttleton Street, West Bromwich and has been set up to provide valuable support to residents from the Lyng estate looking to find employment.The sessions, which will be available on an appointment only basis, following an initial drop-in session from 1-3pm on the launch day – Tuesday 6th October, will provide residents with a range of advice and training covering everything from how to use a computer to interview preparation techniques.
If you are unemployed and living on The Lyng, then Sandwell Employment Network can help you get back into work. They will offer you individual help and support to get the right job.

Youth Project Vacancies
Part time Youth Worker
Lyng Community Association, West Bromwich
Job Title: Youth Worker
Part time post, 5 hours per week with occasional weekend work
Salary: £10 per hour
The Lyng Community Association, a small housing association in West Bromwich has been successful in gaining a Children in Need grant to run a youth project across the estate. We are looking for a Youth Worker with experience of working with young people aged 10-18 in either a paid or volunteer role. The project is a youth led project, with the young people working on collective actions that affect the community, have a say on running the project and budget. A Project Coordinator is in place to help with bookings and all administration for the project.
The successful candidate will be available to work on the project on Tuesday evenings from 4pm-9pm with a monthly external session held either on a Saturday or Sunday to suit the young people.
